The Great Commandment

Matthew 22:37-39

Jesus replied, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the greatest and the most important commandment. The second most important commandment is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself. (Worship, Love)

Go, then, to all peoples everywhere and make them my disciples: baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And I will be with you always, to the end of the age. (Grow, Share)

In 2020 we developed the "direction finder" logo to summarize our purpose. Everything we do, and have been doing as a church for 235 years--is summarized:

Our Beliefs

You might be able to guess that Nomini Baptist Church is a...Baptist Church.  Admittedly, this means different things to different people.

Our closest affiliation as a church is with Virginia Baptists (aka "BGAV") which makes room for many different styles of churches. The simplest way to put it is that we love and respect you, whatever your personal religious convictions.

If you would like to learn more about what it means to be a Baptist you can read more about it here.

The link below out lines the Beliefs as reflected in the By-Laws of Nomini Baptist Church.

Our People

Located in the historic Northern Neck, the people of Nomini appreciate family values, wholesome living, fresh air, and the beauty of God's creation. While some families have been part of Nomini for generations, others have more recently relocated to the "NNK" from other parts of Virginia and beyond.

Nomini is a great place to worship God by experiencing an amazingly loving church family. Even if you are just in town to enjoy the recreation and tourism of the NNK for a weekend, we urge you to stop by and give try Nomini.

Visitors and newcomers are warmly welcomed here.  The tastes of Nomini members vary from "traditional" to "modern" to bluegrass gospel.  We recognize that each person has been given spiritual gifts and unique talents by God; everyone has a place to fit in at Nomini. While each person is valued and unique, we place a high value on unity, teamwork, and being a LOVING church.

God loves you and so do we.
